FELA KUTI AND AFRICA ‘70
I.T.T (International Thief)
ITT (International Thief Thief) was recorded following Afrika 70’s disintegration and the formation of Egypt 80. At the time of its release, the name of this album would have been recognized by any Nigerian as the acronym for International Telephone and Telegraph, Nigeria’s biggest telecommunications conglomerate. In this track, however, Fela used the acronym satirically. On the tracks Fela makes highly insulting, personal attacks on former Nigerian president General Obasanjo and Moshood Abiola, the local chief executive of the multinational corporations International Telephone and Telegraph and Decca Records. Vinyl with Download and liner notes.
