Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe landed their first gold-selling Fania release in 1969 with Cosa Nuestra, the record that pushed the duo into a new league and helped shape the sound of salsa for years to come.
Driven by standout songs largely written by the pair, including Che Che Cole, Juana Pena, Te Conozco, and the bolero Ausencia, it is a sharp, confident set that still hits with real style and feeling.
More than a breakthrough album, Cosa Nuestra stands as a cornerstone of Latin music history. In 2024, Rolling Stone named it one of the 50 Greatest Salsa Albums of All Time.
